about

I decided to try my hand at making a good 80's song. Plastic Surgery Fling obviously sounds poppy, but I tried to put a bit of noise in the song just to give is flavor. (like 'Gramps Kept Me in the Cellar' but without ripping myself off) My influence for the song is 'Word Up' by Cameo and '1999' by Prince. The song first got started when Martin Mangle (an old friend who helped me with some of the tracks on the album) showed me a cool beat he did. I wanted to build a song over it, so I kept bothering him to use it and finally, he caved in and let me have it.The lyrics are about a talk show I saw (I think it was 'Maury' or something) that had on a couple basing their whole relationship on plastic surgery. The weird vocal sample ('The Goon, ooueeoo') is from my crazy friend Roland.Jessica Rabid sings on the track.
